Day 24: Favorite Musical Film

Oh well this is an easy one:

South Park The Movie: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut

“Blame Canada” was nominated for an Oscar, ’nuff said.  The movie is a laugh riot from beginning to end, but the songs that are thrown out are surprisingly equally as hilarious as the witty dialogue.  When you think “South Park,” what comes to mind is just utter insanity, especially as of late.  But Parker and Stone actually love creating musicals, which can be seen in other projects like Team America or any “South Park” episodes that randomly break out into song.  This is easily their greatest musical effort though, tying together offensive lyrics and musical grander in a way only Parker and Stone could pull off.  A musical for the ages.

What about anyone else?  Any music lovers out there?

About Matt Donato

I love all things film. I'll watch any genre, any actor, at any time. This whole film critic thing is a passionate hobby for now which I'm balancing with working in the business world, but hey, someday, who knows?
