Review:  Don’t ask me why, but this film falls into my “cool watch” category.  It’s about a group of criminals that dress up like Elvis and pull heists; in this case a casino.  Too bad the real problems arise after the heist is pulled off and the group learns who they can and can’t trust.  The most interesting part of the film for me is watching Costner get to act out of character as the alleged villain of the movie.  We always see him as the good-hearted character, be it in Dances With Wolves or Field of Dreams.  Now watch him murder cops as an Elvis impersonator.  Talk about acting out of character?  Kurt Russell being a BAMF is nothing new, but it’s always a treat to watch him on-screen in roles such as this.  The rest of the cast keeps you smiling as there is a lot of familiarity.  I didn’t even include all the recognizable faces in the Notable Cast because it would have been a paragraph on its own.  Don’t expect an Oscar winner with this film, just a cool heist movie with some flair, bad impersonations, and a lot of sequins.  A LOT of sequins.  If you’ve got some time and want something to just relax to, 3000 Miles To Graceland will fill that void for you.

Netflix Rating: 3/5

About Matt Donato

I love all things film. I'll watch any genre, any actor, at any time. This whole film critic thing is a passionate hobby for now which I'm balancing with working in the business world, but hey, someday, who knows?
